Albertan Belt
A cow skull, the moon cycle, wild roses and navajo patterns cover this belt.
This is a motif I have worked with many times but this time with the addition of the moon. The background colours were black with cool blues and greys. Designed for Ayla of Hold your Ground who will do the finishing touches on the belt.
Cow Skull Symbolism: Cows are highly respected and treated as sources of life across cultures. The cow skull pays homage to what was, the fruits of life and are an emblem of mortality. Protection from all natural elements, strength, courage and death.
Wild Rose Symbolism: A symbol of passion. It is associated with Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love, who is often portrayed with a crown of roses on her head. Also a symbol of balance and new beginnings. It is contrasted by thorns symbolizing defence and loss. The wild rose brings an open simplicity to these traits.
